Cozette Gillis Murder  -  March 19, 1975

 

In March 1975, Cozette Gillis was brutally murdered in her home.  Neighbors to Ms. Gillis found her bound and gagged lying on her bed.  An intense investigation ensued with the questioning of several possible suspects.  Autopsy showed cause of death to be asphyxiation.  Several people were spoken to by members of the Dalhart Police Department and the Texas Rangers; however, no definitive leads have developed at present date and time.  Most of the witnesses and/or suspects named in the report have either passed away or have moved to other locations that are unknown to this agency.  Anyone having information or knowledge of this heinous crime or suspect information is encouraged to contact the Dalhart Police Department immediately.  Cozette Gillis needs closure and justice needs to be served on her assailant(s).
